Now, this recipe is nothing groundbreaking. Believe it or not, green goddess dressing did exist before that viral TikTok. I love that recipe, too, but I have to say I like mine better — it’s creamier, more flavorful, and perhaps most importantly, my recipe is simpler. You can make a really good green goddess dressing with just a handful of basic ingredients.
Of course, the most important feature of this dressing is the fat handful of fresh herbs. I pack a measuring cup with whatever tender herbs I have on hand, and no matter what combination I use, it’s always delicious. Here, I used parsley, cilantro, and dill. You can also use basil, mint, chervil, tarragon, or any combination thereof.
The process couldn’t be simpler. Step 1: cram everything in a blender. Step 2: blend. Step 3: that’s it. There is no step 3. Pour it on anything and everything. Toss it with a salad (like this BLT salad). Dip french fries in it. It keeps for around a week in the fridge, but if your house is anything like mine, I doubt it’ll make it that long.

This dressing is so modifiable, too. I use mayo most of the time, but if you’re looking to make this dressing lighter, plain Greek yogurt makes an excellent substitute. It’s still mega tasty that way. Any soft herbs will work. And you can substitute the white wine vinegar with more lemon juice or any other mild vinegar (red wine vinegar, rice vinegar, or apple cider vinegar would work perfectly).
Just don’t skip the green onions and garlic. Those are your one-way tickets to Flavortown. And once you go to Flavortown, baby, there’s no coming back. You’ll be making this dressing every week just like me.
